Nevertheless I long, I pine, all my days to travel home and see the dawn of my return. And if a god will wreck me yet again on the wine-dark sea, I can bear that too, with a spirit tempered to endure. Much have I suffered, laboured long and hard by now, in the waves and wars – The Odyssey
  • Hello

Hello everybody. If you are here, it is likely to see the pictures from my recent trip to Sicily. You will be relieved to know I do not feature in any of them, as I was the one holding the camera!. Many of these were taken as research for my project and as such may seem a little odd – these are not tourist snaps. Also, the photos do not feature some of the more “adventurous” aspects of the trip. It’s quite hard to take a photo when you’re being chased by a Sicilian farmers dog, going on a 10K sea kayak trip or nearly falling off a cliff (travel tip – if you don’t like heights, don’t try and go somewhere with “Mountain” in the name). More to come, but one step at a time…..

Hard to see in the picture, but straight ahead is a hatch into the bottom hold of the ship. You do not want to be down there
